Like many people, my top priority when choosing a new phone is the picture quality and I definitely achieved that with the Huawei P40 Pro. I think having an excellent camera is a top criterion for people when choosing a new phone because of the important role photography plays in our life. Due to the advances in technology and phones, we can capture moments in an instant so we need a phone that can document this for us and that is why I love my Huawei P40 Pro. Today, I want to talk a bit more about the camera capabilities such as AI Golden Snap, Reflection Removal and Remove Passerby as well as how the P40 Pro can help capture these significant moments for you in perfect symphony.
With our fast-paced life, we often don’t’ have time to bring out our big heavy and expensive DSLR cameras anymore and we need a phone to give us similar results in the fastest and highest quality possible; So that is why I love my Huawei P40 Pro Smartphone more than ever! It has been quite a journey with the Huawei P40 Pro so far and I seriously don’t remember a time without this phone and it’s only been six months or so! I really got to test out this phone fully when I was sent on a travel job (when there was no restriction) and took many photos with the phone which got even used in their travel guide. To be honest, yes a DSLR quality is still better because they are made to just take pictures while the smartphone does infinite more things, which really can’t be compared. I also like the fact that the camera photos give a different feel one that offers a wider angle, performs better in low light than a DSLR and can even remove a passerby instantly so that sounds pretty awesome to me.

I have already talked in detailed about the phone and camera specs in a previous blog post and how to use their AppGallery and Petal Search Engine so you can always check it out. In here, I mainly want to talk about the editing and camera capabilities and I will start with some of its standard features:
Shoot Wide Aperture Photos and Videos
Wide aperture mode allows you to shoot photos and videos where the background is blurred while your subject remains in sharp focus. I love this feature so much and was totally surprised when I tried it out on the P30 Pro! It gives a really close comparison to a DSLR camera and made me realized that if I didn’t have it I don’t have to panic because the phone will take these wonderful aperture photos like a DSLR.
The Ulta-Wide Angle Shot
Another feature I love and probably one that I use most is Ultra-Wide Angle! Why I love this feature so much is because our DSLR camera doesn’t allow for a very wide angle meaning it can’t capture too much of the landscapes and cityscapes and often time when I work with travel brands or hotels this comes in super handy because they want to see not just me but me with the background so that it really gives that wanderlust feel.
Night Mode
I already covered briefly the Night Mode feature but I can’t stress enough about how Huawei phones are the best in the market for low-light shooting and definitely better than a DSLR camera. Night mode resolves the limitations of low light and night shooting to give your photos sharper details and brighter colors. You can also use Night mode when shooting backlit subjects and scenes of flowing water, such as waterfalls, to create better contrast or a smooth, silky water effect.
Huawei AI Golden Snaps
Now to the new editing features, I want to talk about which is called HUAWEI Golden Snap which is an intelligent photo-editing feature now available on the latest P40 and P30 Series! Thanks to Huawei’s advanced camera system of unique Ultra Vision Leica Lenses. With Golden Snap, Huawei is giving you all the photography tools you need to take the best shot because sometimes we only have one fleeting chance to capture it.
Well, fear no more with Huawei’s new Golden Snap features where you can remove that photobomber, capture the best shot while jumping, and remove even the wrong glare in your photo for the picture-perfect moment.
To enable AI Golden Snaps follow these four steps:
- Turn on “Moving Pictures” the small circle icon on the top left-hand corner
- Then Tap on the shutter button to take the photos
- Now go to edit and you will see options to either choose the best picture, remove passerby and/or remove passerby
- Press the disk icon and save the photo to your gallery.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words and More

When writing this blog post, I thought a lot about how my life was before such advancement in technology and specifically cameras in phones and the answer is: I took fewer pictures! Looking back, I wish we had the technology we do now so that I could have capture more moments of my youth; Not only was it cumbersome to take out a DSLR camera all the time but it was also slow and poorer quality but now, I can instantly capture something I want and that feeling is so reassuring. I use to panic when I first started Instagram when we would forget our DSLR but now that I have my P40 Pro, I barely even flinch because I know that the phone will do a great job and I can use the photos afterward.
Now that I have used the Huawei P40 Pro for over 6 months, I can truly understand why it’s the world’s best smartphone camera and with all these amazing AI features too I mean what more can you ask for? The P40 Pro is a beauty on the outside but has a beast of hardware inside and with everything you would want and expect in a phone and camera nowadays.
